DMs b-day & Third Class (22.9.07)

OMG...Best night EVER!!!!!
Let's start form the beginning, OK how to start....

Well...the day began at 8:30am with a trip to the dentist...nothing horrible, just the usual yearly visit for a check up and a clean. The plan was to do that, go to the gym with Kazza nice and early so that I could head into the city with Ginger, PowPow and his mates to jump the fence for Parklife! However as usual, plans never work out especially when they involve early mornings! Instead of getting to the gym at 9:30am...we didn't get there till at least 10:30am. We ended up spending ages at the gym coz we were chatting so much, so much for exercise (loL). It was super duper catching up coz it had just been too long...no way in hell I was gona choose Parklife over you Kazza ;)

Anyhoo...by the time I got home and had a shower it was already 1pm. I rang Ginger to see how they went with the fence jumping...and she was so excited! They made it easy, past the double fences and also all the security guards. Apparently there were about 20 of them...and they all just went for it together and the guards couldn't do jack all! GOOD ON YA GUYS! I wanted to train in and join them...but after speaking to Ginger, we both decided that it wouldn't be worth it coz it would've been way harder to jump the fence alone. So instead I just stayed home and did my laundry, fell asleep in the backyard and got totally sun burnt on my cheeks. At least I caught up on the sleep debt, so by the time night fell, I was ready to PARTY!

We didn't have anything set in concrete...we knew that it was Danger Mouse (DM)'s b-day drinks @ The Croft Institute, so we thought we'd start off there and just see where the night takes us. I met up with PowPow and Ginger around 10:20pm at Flinder St and it was sooo....obvious that PowPow was totally still "buzzing"! Ginger was psyched too even though hers had already faded. I actually felt so left out when we first met up... coz they were like SO OVER THE MOON and I so wasn't. I mean I was looking forward to the night and all...but I guess at that point in time I wasn't that psyched..I needed some really really good music!

So after food in China town we made our way to the croft and met up with DM. To be honest...that place was NOT happening at all...kinda disappointed especially we had to pay $8 to get in. Was empty with really bad elecktro. We tried to dance a bit...but not soon after we all moved on together. We started to make our way to 3rd Class off Flinders lane...only to walk pass Velour Bar with people outside ushering us in and telling us that it was free entry. The music was loud and the place seemed like it was really happening...so we just went with the flow and skipped in!

Velour was definitely a lot more happening compared to the Croft, and out of total coincidence Mayuran happened to be at a friend's 21st downstairs so it all worked out! It had been so long since we had seen him so Ginger and I both jumped him when he came up! YAY! Once I started grooving to the music I started to get really really psyched. So many people asked me whether i was "Buzzing" but i was natural all the way loL. As the night went on, more of Ginger's mates showed up, which just made it even more fun coz we hadn't seen them for ever!

After a while at Velour, we decided that the music was starting to get sucky...so we managed to convince Mayuran to leave his mate's 21st and a whole bunch..say around 10 of us made our way to 3rd Class. After several attempts of going there...this time we finally made it...only to find a massive, gigantic line. The bouncer pretty much just told everyone that it was full house, so unless we were on a guest list...just leave and forget about it. Luckily, PowPow's mate Josh usually has a guest list there....so we all got in, PHEW! I think we must have been the last bunch to get in as well. 3rd Class was absolutely SICK...the place was just buzzing like there was no tomorrow! The music was fantastic, the crowd was awesome and the atmosphere was just like a rave loL. The music was going off...the crowd was going off...the lights were going off...everything was just going OFFFFFFFF............!!! We just danced and danced and danced and drank and drank and danced and drank....surprisingly I was sober the whole night even though I quite a couple of shots.

PowPow,Ginger, Chris & Me

Ben & Ginger

Mayuran was super duper generous and bought us heaps of the drinks....haha...he was pretty gone actually. From past experience you know he is gone when he starts to get aggressive (loL) and when his shirt buttons start to gradually open up, until it's off (loL), otherwise he is actually really composed when he talks to you. So I couldn't tell at all that Mayuran was that gone, even though he kept saying he was. Apparently he has now "changed his ways" and grown up...so no more aggressiveness....um...the shirt still came undone...but still a good effort!

haha...Retarded Mayuran

Drunk Mayruan

Definately drunk Mayuran

I spent a bit of time chilling with him in the open area coz he was too gone to dance....so that's when I whipped out my camera and started to snap away. We both decided that we are extremely un-photogenic people...and that he's eyes are always droopy....so I said that I was gona keep taking pics untill he opens his eyes...haha....and lets just say...lots of photos later...we eventually got there.

Common Mayuran, open the eyes

haha..that's a bit better

Anyhoo..there is no way to describe how good the night was simply by writing, you had to be there! So I'm not even going to try anymore! Let's just say we danced and danced and didn't leave until 4:30am. Then a whole bunch of us Eastern Suburbans shared a maxi-cab home together. On the taxi...we checked the cricket scores...and I was under the impression that Aust was A-OK and that we'd beat India with no hassles. Boy was I wrong. I had gottnen home and hopped in to bed, only to receive a distress call from PowPow telling me that Aust was going to LOSE!!! I was in utter SHOCK! I ran down stairs and turned the TV to watch Aust get beaten by 15 runs...and also the disappointed faces of Pointing, Clark and Hussey! Had the night not been so super duper I would've been utterly depressed...however, coz I had such a good night...the lost didn't have such a devastating effect on me as it probably would have otherwise.

BEST SAT NIGHT OUT EVER...............I LUV ALL YOU GUYZ xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo

Room (21.9.07)

For the whole past week I've not only become addicted to MaxiBons....but I have also officially become a MSN whore (loL). There was not one night last week that I got to sleep prior to 1:30am, hence being totally buggered at work and living off a minimum of 3 cups of coffee per day. I have developed a bad habit of coming home tired...sitting myself down in front of my laptop with dinner and just chatting away while mucking around on the Internet. Yes, sad I know... my head would tell me to get off my lazy ass and do all the chores that need to be done...but no...I go on to procrastinate until I realize it's midnight...then I procrastinate some more before I get so tired that my eyelids start drooping. This is usually when I finally stumble upstairs and get ready for bed. Thanx to this new bad habit, my snoozing habits in the morning reached a new low. For the first time in my life, instead of extending my snoozing time, I actually managed to turn off my alarm clock half asleep. Before I knew it, it was already 8am and I had to get ready in 9 mins to make my usual train (which I actually did surprisingly).

So coming home from work last Friday was nothing out of the ordinary...I was tired and the sleep debt had built up to the point where I had to power nap when I got home. I didn't have any plans set in concrete, so when Ginger asked me to go to her mate Mikey's event at Room-Glenferrie Rd for their little nerdy "Golden Key Society", I was like..yea OK. Having grown up living in Balwyn and attending private girls schools in the area of Hawthorn...I have actually surprisingly never gone to Room before, or in fact any other clubs/bars in this "private kids dominated area", where the crowds are pretty under-age and all the girls want to be Paris Hilton splashing out "daddy's money". I always kinda knew that the crowd wouldn't exactly be my cup of tea...so I wasn't exactly shocked when we rocked up and the crowd was more so on the younger side. There were cheap drinks and all the money collected was going to the Ian Thorpe Foundation...so at least it was all for a cause! Having said that...there were some old sleazy men that were just random and totally desperate. Actually...thinking back, I was surprised at how sleazy all the guys were at Room, and how that they all pretty much had no social skills. I mean, they didn't even try chat to you first before trying to dance with you. No joke, after stepping into the club, some random guys just started straight away to try pick Ginger up...hilarious! The music was pretty horrible...but danceable so i guess we tried our best to ignore the crowd and just groove.

The place took a while to pack out...think later on there was some after party because guys started to show up in suites and all. The music did get a lot better for a little while and we all danced in the huge cage hanging up and did our best pole dancing moves so that was fun. So I guess even though the crowd or music wasn't so great, we just had fun anyways among ourselves. There was this area that had a fake life size cow, Random! It was fenced off and a security guard was standing there guarding the area. He wouldn't let us ride it so that was a shame...would've been funny! We didn't' bother going anywhere else coz we weren't going to have a big night. That was going to be reserved for Sat night! Not to mention both Ginger and I had a 8:30am dentist appointment. So by around 1am we left and got a lift home from Ahmen!

Postgraduate Ball (14.09.07)

Here I go again, being completely slack with updating my blog!

So, last Friday was the postgraduate ball!! After weeks of anticipation and being psyched, I was surprisingly quite "over it" by Friday morning (loL). Probably due to having to shop for ball stuff and not being able to find anything that I had in mind. However, as the day progressed my enthusiasm picked up after chatting to the ACBers about last year's ball, and I was ready to have a good time by the time I left work.

I managed to leave Uni early, bought a last minute clutch at Central and got home around 5pm. This meant I could snooze which was sweet as. After a 30min power nap I felt totally rested and started prepping myself for the ball. Liz also came over with her kool eye shadow and helped me get ready (Thanx Liz)! Before long I was A-OK and ready to go!

voilĂ !

Ginger (being the super duper sister that she is!) had offered to be my driver for the night so when we were both ready to roll, we picked up PowPow, Markdot and Studds before heading to the Eureka tower. We kinda got lost driving around South Bank, trying to reach the Eureka tower by just driving towards it instead of actually looking it up on the melways (loL). Anyhoo...we eventually made it...and I told Ginger & PowPow to loiter around till I suss out whether I could sneak them into the ball or not.

YAY! Ready to roll

Markdot, Studds and myself made our way into the Eureka tower. First of all, we got our tix checked downstairs...this is when I found out that I had won a door prize! YAY...Hooray, Hoorah, Hoorow! It was a bottle of Chandon Brut which I had to remember to pick up on the way out. Then from there onwards we enter a room where the lift is...and then just up the lift into a narrow corridor...and we were there! It seemed simple enough...they took our ticket stubs, but we kept the actual tix. After I got up there, I had a quick look around before taking Markdot and Studd's tix with me back down stairs and gave them to Ginger & PowPow. The exit was actually through the gift store of the Eureka tower, so I didn't actually pass the same people that checked tix for our entrance. This made it even better as the whole "operation" would've seemed less suss. Before I went back to ball, I explained to Ginger & PowPow how to get up there, and told them to just look confident and pretend that they've already been up there and are re-entering.

After I re-entered the ball...I found Birdy, Mandy, Robyn, Heather & McPerson from the good old Lawrence lab. I was psyched and had a drink and chat with them. There were unlimited champas, beer and wines throughout the whole level, so I was really taking advantage of this. Before long, Ginger & PowPow found me and we were ecstatic!! The view of Melbourne was AMAZING from the 89th floor, yes did I just say that it was FREAKING AMAZING!

Me & Lawrence lab

Apart from hanging out with the ACBers, there was in general...just a hell of a lot of DRINKING and drinking and drinking and drinking. Ginger and I danced a bit to the bands...but not many people seem to be dancing...so that was a little disappointing. Nonetheless ... drinking was good and they also had really nice mad gourmet finger food. The peaking duck and also the fried sesame coated prawns were my favourites! Drink-wise I stayed away from the wines (especially after what happened to me at The Order of Melbourne loL). I had loads of raspberry champas and crownies! Before I was too gone I took some photos, but I couldn't be bothered pulling out my camera all the time so I actually don't have that many photos of the night :(

I do remember finding a guy with extreme kool pants...they were like covered in little tiny soft toys lOL....PowPow and I wanted to steal some...but he said that we couldn't coz they weren't his pants...so we took a photo instead :( Oh, and KT pulled the same ticket trick and got her other two friends Lisa and Kath into the ball too....how funny....can't believe I forked out $95 for this!

PowPow, Me, Kool Pants guy & another random

Anyhoo...the after party was at The Boulevard just near by. To be honest...I had no recollection of leaving the Eureaka tower or getting to The Boulevard...but I was later to be informed by "The Adorable Dancer" that he had to piggy back me there...while Ginger and PowPow was slapping my ass! How totally random?!! Not much memory of the after party except that everyone got in easy...even with out a ticket, dancing a little...wondering like a lost-ie coz I turned into a complete ADHD drunk (loL). Looking through my camera, I found a photo of Hairy Melon and me taken at The Boulevard, even though I don't remember it being taken at all (loL). I totally forgot about my bottle of champagne and Bec and to take it home for me (Thanx Bec)! I'm surprised that I even remembered to collect my door price after the actual ball...or do I have to thank someone for this too?!

Hairy Melon & Me

Overall...wouldn't say it was the best night out ever...but it was great to drink and be stupid with everyone and also it was fun to get all dressed up ;)

WorkShop & St. Jeromes (7.09.07)

So the original plan was to go to the St. Vincent's PFA at the Turf Club before bar hopping the night away. However, after running late and not getting into the city until 6:45pm Liz and I decided to find Ginger, then go straight to workshop to meet up with Stewie, Mukie and their mates. After grabbing a quick dinner at Red Wall, we met PowPow and made our way to WorkShop!!

Memories memories memories! First thing I noticed was that the Stuart Clark look alike bouncer wasn't there (lol). Surprise surprise, Markdot was there and already quite "happy" when we arrived. It was such a nice surprise coz she originally was going to the movies, so this hyped me up even more than I already was coz it's been a while since we'd been partying together. It was especially awesome as she was my WorkShop buddie when we first started going earlier in the year! We also met Mukie's Murdoch work mates and some randoms (e.g. Stevo).

To be honest..there isn't much to write about...because I don't even remember much details of the night. Most of what I do know was pieced together today after seeing the photos and also talking to people. I just remember that I had a super duper time coz I was so excited to be hanging with Muks, GoldFish and Markdot (and also everyone else that was there of-course)...it had been too long since we all went out together and had a piss up ;P

At workshop I started of with a glass of semillon sauvignon blanc then it was just shots, shots, shots and shots. We all did tequilas, Jagger bombs and absynths. Lets just say everyone was pretty happy! We danced and just chatted and it was GREAT! I do remember speaking to a French guy at WorkShop who was super duper (except for the fact he spilt he's drink all over my legs earlier on) coz he could speak a little mandarin, Japanese and god knows what else haha ... and I remember that he tried to teach me some French but I kept forgetting the lines ... ooopps. So here are some of the pics from Workshop:

Stewie, Markdot & Me @ WorkShop

Ginger, PowPow, Me & Markdot @ WorkShop

Me & Liz @ WorkShop

Me, Muks & Ginger @ WorkShop

JP, Me & Stewie @ WorkShop

Can't remember when we left WorkShop, but it might have been around 11:30pmish. We didn't 'know where to go, all we knew was that we were pissed, happy and wanted to dance. PowPow suggested that we head to some alternative night down in AC/DC lane, so we were like...koolies why not? So we were all walking and being completely silly on the road on the way to AC/DC lane...when we came across Caledonian Lane...so I was like "OMG! St. Jaromes!!!" so without much hesitation PowPow and I led the others and they just all followed us in.

Markdot, Muks & Me

Oops...Ginger dragging us down

St. Jeromes was completely PACKED sardines. I seriously can't remember much. I remember getting there...and squeezing in...then just drinking shit loads of beer one after the other... and I lost people...I couldn't remember seeing Liz or Ginger for most of the time! However, I do remember that I had to concentrate really hard to walk up and down the stairs in the back to get to and from the bar heaps...I was pretty drunk and wearing heels, lets just say that it's not a good combination if you wanted to stay on your feet and not your ass (lol). I also remember getting cut by glass...OUCH...my foot and finger. There were all these broken glass fragments on the ground in the back where we were. When I tried to dance...some of the glass flew up and embedded themselves into the side of my left foot. Being completely blond I tried to use my hands to wipe them away, and ended up cutting my finger. So there was all this blood coming out of my fingers...but it wasn't too painful coz i was too drunk to feel pain. But it was all OK coz PowPow came to the rescue and led me to the bar for a bandaid...I wasn't even capable of putting the bandaid on myself (*shame on me*). OH, and I also remember some random guy that came over to the wall at where we were chillaxing...with a marker or something...and we got chatting...and he wrote my name on the wall and I also told him to put Ginger's name on too...so we got on to the "St. Jerome's wall of fame" (lol).

Me & Goldfish @ St Jeromes

St Jerome's wall of fame

Goldfish & Me @ St Jeromes

So I have absolutely no idea when we left St Jeromes. I was in 100% koala mode and was just so freaking lost and had to follow someone coz I don't think I knew what was going on. We all kinda got separated and I some how ended up at Cookie and didn't even remember walking there. Then Muks called me to see where abouts I was and told me that they were at Hungry Jacks. So we went to Hungry Jacks to say bye to Mukie and his mates before getting a lift home with Ahman. Then I don't remember anything...don't even remember getting ready for bed...and just passed out basically.

Man...Junee woke me up at like 8:15am to drive her to Chinese school and I was so out of it. Still drunk and totally dehydrated to the max! Was just driving crazy like hitting curbs and stuff. BAD! And I also found dried blood on my foot so I had to clean the wound...but my fingers were ok thanx to PowPow's bandaid job! Anyhoo....I had a super duper time and now i just can't wait till next Friday...POST GRAD. BALL. Hooray...hoorah...hoorow ;) OH, and this is so totally devastating, but Ginger's bag got cleaned out at St Jeromes...she lost her camera and Creative Vision M and like $150 worth of make up that she had bought earlier. So take home message...don't leave hand bags around!

Mt Buller Trip #3 (1.9.07)

After the last two snow trips, I have finally learnt my lesson: SLEEP before going up to the snow!! I was determined not to get sick AGAIN after this trip (lol, not mentioning I was still not 100% healthy from my last sickness). So instead of going out and partying on Friday night I wondered over to Snow Gum to get some thermal wear for the snow. I had a gift voucher from Mum, so i thought "hey why not buy some good quality merino tops from Ice Breaker"! So I did, only to find out after I'd left the shop that the shop lady didn't process the voucher properly and over charged me....MAN....so I have to go back, but at least she was nice enough to call me up and tell me. Otherwise I would've been completely oblivious for at least days!

After Snow Gum...and bumping into Markdot and Studds there (hahaha...small world) I trained to Prahran to meet up with Ginger for the Shakuhachi sale. Ended up spending a bit of $$ and got a sexy high waisted skirt and two dresses :) Went home afterwards and just packed my bags for the snow. I panicked coz I totally forgot to buy muesli bars (my food source for the snow), but Ginger was heading out and said that she'd buy some for me. With that settled...I hopped into bed by 11:30pm. I was quite proud of myself coz that would've given me 4.5hrs of sleep before I had to get up at 4am...unfortunately, I was so excited about going up to the snow i just couldn't sleep...lay there rolling around the whole night...so in reality...probably only slept for 2-3 hours (should've known *sigh*)!

So I get a morning call at 4am from Markdot...telling me that she'd be at my place in 3o mins. I jumped out of bed, into the shower and got ready in a record time of 10 mins. I rocked down stairs and to my horror...there was no muesli bars in sight! Ginger had totally forgotten. So I made a sandwich really quickly thinking Markdot was going to be at my place at any minute. Luckily she was running late herself...so I ended up having lots of time! Markdot arrived at around 4:45am...and we were on our way to Mt. Buller. I called PowPow...so we could convoy up together as he was driving up with his bro, but at the time he was still waiting for another mate to turn up, so we went off first.

The drive was pleasant and Markdot was very safe! We had a stop over at Yea for a breakfast and toilet break before pressing on to Mt. Buller. Once we got to Mansfield, we stopped to get chains. I gave PowPow a call then...and to my surprise..they had over taken us at some point and was already only 20 mins away from the Top of Mt. Buller!!! The whole way from Mansfield to Mt. Buller I was so so so excited...to the point that I wanted to jump up and down on my seat! However, I did manage to refrain myself...so that I didn't embarrass Markdot and also myself in front of Studds. After getting changed into our snow clothing we shuttled up Mt. Buller from the day car park as per usual, when we got there, my worst fears were confirmed...there was absolutely NO SNOW in sight when we got off the shuttle! The line for lift tickets was also humongously (did i just make up another world?) massive! Took probably at least 20mins till we got lift tickets. By this time PowPow and Co. had already done 2 runs for Burke St.! After ticket buying, I went to meet up with PowPow and Co. and Markdot stayed with Studds and his mates coz they were all going for a beginners lesson at 10am.

Finally, I met up with PowPow, His bro. Hian and their friend Kaz at the lifts. I was so scared and excited at the same time when I was about to go down Burke St. FOR THE FIRST TIME WITH MY NEW SNOW BOARD!!! The fact that Hian was all like "hey dude, I heard you were pretty good...gotta check you out" got me really nervous too! No need to say...with in the first 5 secs of going down the slope I stacked coz I wasn't used to how responsive the new board was.
The fact that Hian chucked a massive hard ass snowball right at the back of my head didn't help either lol! Nonetheless, I hopped back up right away, and carved down the rest of the run with surprisingly relative ease! I know that people say...if you have your own proper gear...it really makes a difference coz rental gear is pretty run down and unsuited for chicks. However, I had no idea that it would make THIS MUCH DIFFERENCE! Maybe coz the snow conditions were better compared to last time as well (soft and fluffy, not icy) but this time round I could literally CARVE down blue runs with no trouble at all. We were totally ripping up Wombat, Standard and Little Buller Spur. I also had a 2nd attempt at the black run that I tried last time and was able to do a couple of turns!

Anyhoo, I guess coz I've gone up a couple of times now...I didn't really bother bringing my camera. The only objective was to just carve..carve...carve...carve...and keep carving. OH, and I was also able to do a couple of jumps, no biggies...just over some moguls but nonetheless I had air time and was able to land! So basically, we just boarded the whole day till our muscles were so tried that we couldn't use them properly anymore! It was so super duper and just totally SICK!!!! We had lunch at Koffler's Cafe under the bright bright sun...(did i mention that it was so sunny and so hot..the weather was just absolutely beautiful)...was just perfect! After lunch we tried family run..which was a totally disappointment. Then PowPow and I met up with Markdot and Studds for a couple of runs together on Burke St. before returning to Wombat for the rest of the day.

I need to grab photos of Kaz! I had a super duper day...best snow boarding trip out of the 3. Thanks to great company too....that' right...you guys know who you are ;P After, driving back to Melbourne (coz PowPow was too tired to drive, so I hopped into the driver's seat) we ended the night with some dinner at La Porchettas, Box Hill. Hooray...Hoorah...Hoorow!
